Why I follow you...

So many blogs, so little time! Seriously, Heidi and I enjoy reading blogs for so many reasons, because of the great pictures, the cool things we learn, the people we get to know, humor, inspiration, and the list goes on and on.

One thing we try to do is always follow the blogs of those who follow us. Just a little reciprocity. On that note, I have been way behind on adding new blogs so, if you are one of our "Wise and Wonderful People" and you have a blog that I don't follow, shoot me an email or comment here and I will come follow you!

Of course we love all our readers and are grateful that you choose to take the time to read our ramblings!

I wanted to make mention of a few things I have been working on(though not quite done with). If you glance over there <--- you will see a new link "Great Blogs & Links". If you click on it, it will take you to a page where I am putting links to everyone's blogs and other resources I think you might find interesting. Also, just under that you might notice that it says "last 5 new follower's blogs". That one is self explanatory I think :)

I have quite a few ideas I want to incorporate into the blog over the next few weeks however, if anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them!

The picture was taken a few years back on the coast of Oregon along Highway 101. I love that drive!

  1. Thanks for making the suggestion of reciprocity. I think that's a wonderful way to look at it. I follow this blog and Mike has been very helpful to me via email.

My artist blog is easy to follow because it requires little reading: http://motionista.blogspot.com/

This philosophy blog requires dense reading but I rarely update it anymore: http://theperplexity.blogspot.com/

  4. I'm brand new to this blogging thing and mostly started it to put a list of the blogs I find interesting for me to have easy access. Is "following" more like counting coup or is there a specific advantage to the blog owner to have more followers?

Sorry if I sound stupid about this but I find myself rather confused by the whole follower thing and am slightly embarrassed about having people kind enuf to drop by called "followers" as I don't think I know enuf to have people following me. I'd hate to lead anyone astray. On the other hand, I've learned so very much from you and other's blogs, if I can help anyone else along my way, that's all to the good.

  5. Hi Tesaje! For us, most of the fun of having followers is just knowing you have so many friends that read your blog and are interested enough to get it sent to them via a blog reader. We have RSS subscribers too, but they are not individually easily identified so it isn't quite the same. It is also sort of a fun way to track your blog's growth and tells you that you are at least heading in the right direction. I think there is likely some incentive for those wanting to make their blogs an income source by showing higher traffic to gain advertising income etc.

We always smile and have fun seeing new "followers"! Kinda like finding a surprise in your cereal :)

You don't sound stupid at all, I think many people have these questions! And like I mentioned at the beginning of the post, we follow people for all kinds of reasons. One of the biggest is that we get to know them as friends and learn about their lives!

    Thanks for the comment!

  6. We've been in a blog block lately! We do read our friends blogs but we have been lax in posting and making comments. I suppose with the medical issues Mike has been having we've been focused on that.
    As always...love your blog!!!

  10. Thanks fer xplainin' this here follower thing. Me and Nilda has got some followers on our blog, but I weren't sure about them. One day when we were a moving to a new campground we got lost. So I says to Nilda that we should just wait a might, and one of our followers should soon be along ahind us, and would hopefully have a map with them to get us founded. None never did show up and we had to get unlost ourownselves. Now I think I knows why. They were all a followering you that day.

  12. Hi Mike & Gerri(happytrails), Your focus on Mike's health is right where it should be! With that in mind, your comment and kind words mean so much! Thank You!

Hey Renee, Thank YOU! Cool about the foam! Looking forward to seeing it :)

Thanks Donna & Froggi! I appreciate the kind words!

Sue & Doug, Thanks & we agree! We love seeing how everyone else does it! Some great ideas and adventures out there!

"you & Nilda" LOL! Hey, no worries! I went and followed you so the next time you get lost, just give a shout out back and I will come running with a map!

Brian, Glad to hear your blog traffic is picking up! That's great! The "gadget" is just the regular blog widget. I just have it set to show just five blogs and update them manually as new followers with blogs join. If you want to do it and need any more info on how etc, just shoot me an email :)
